Paracress - Spilanthes acmella in the Asteraceae or Aster family
Part used: Whole plant.
Taste/smell: Pungent, aromatic, tingles the tongue.
Dosage: Infusion: 1 tablespoon per cup of water infused for 25 minutes; or 1:1 fresh strength liquid extract: 10-60 drops 1-4 times per day.
Use: (a) Antifungal, (b) Antiviral, (c) Antiseptic, (d) Immunomodulator.
Paracress is used for enhancing the immune system's resistance to infections.
It is indicated for swollen glands associated with infections, stimulates wound healing and is used for gum disease and all manner of acute bodily bacterial, viral and fungal infections. It protects the individual from colds and flu.
This plant contains alkylamides similar to the Echinacea genus.
